CEDIA Expo returned to what is often cited as attendees’ favorite host city, Denver, Colorado. CEDIA offered 125 classes, almost half of which were new, running the gamut from transformational leadership to rack building to deep dives on home network security.
This year’s keynote was Luke Williams, one of the leading experts on innovation strategy, a NYU professor, and a Fellow at Frog Design. He warned that the danger for any business today is complacency, and suggested attendees spend time thinking about what it would look like to blow up their businesses and start from scratch. Not that he recommended actually blowing it up, just a way to get into the mindset to unearth that next disruptive idea.
The show floor was as busy as ever with 20,000 in attendance and 500 exhibitors. One new feature was the wellness pavilion focused on themes like biophilila, indoor air quality, and human-centric lighting.
